Best Father's Day Ever

As today is father's day, I thought it would be appropriate to post more pictures of our new baby boy. Patrice and Evan have established a daily routine of trying to wake Evan up, trying to get him to eat, and changing him. This takes about two hours, then they wait thirty minutes and start the cycle over again. Evan has loved having visitors the past few weeks. He shows his excitement by sleeping.
We had a great time when Chelsea, Max, and Jack came down. We just had Jack babysit for us while we enjoyed our company. We hope that Evan can someday catch up to Jack as these cousins will be in the same class.
Grandma, Grandpa, Rob, and Giselle also came down to see us. Grandma was nice enough to give Evan a bath while she was here.

Unlike most babies, Evan does not love being swaddled, or at least he does not like to have his hands trapped in the blanket. Here is a very pround Evan after successfully freeing his arm.
We can already tell that Evan is a genius baby. He spends hours a day just sitting in deep thought as you can see from the picture above.
When Evan is not deep in thought, he is, of course, deep in sleep. Again, it took him a while, but he managed to get his hand out of his blanket in order to comfortably sleep.

It was so wonderful to spend father's day with our little boy. We also want to wish our fathers a very happy father's day!

Happy Father's Day! It looks like Evan is doing wonderfully, and you two are doing well as parents also. I love the picture of the two cousins together, its hilarious!!!!! Jack was the same way with having to have his arms out of the blanket, and too would struggled to get them out until they were free. I'm sure he will be a genius baby with you two as his parents.

Yeah an update. It looks like Evan has gained two pounds since I saw him. Patrice must be doing a fantastic job of feeding him. The cycle will never end it just gets somewhat faster and more efficent. I am glad you had a wonderful first fatheris day.

I'm so glad for an update! We have been wanting to see more pictures of Evan ever since we left your house! He looks more and more like a Shuppy--I used to say in jest that you would never have a baby of your own that looked as much like you as Tess or Noah -- and here I was only teasing and it is true! He is a cutie and looks like he is doing very well! Patrice must be doing a wonderful job of waking him up and feeding him, because he looks much bigger to me! The post is darling--keep them coming! Happy Father's Day to the first time Daddy!

Oh, what a cutie. I absolutely love the picture with Jack. It is hard to believe that one day Evan will be that big too, but he will. Then he will be 2 years old and you will wonder what happened to your little baby who use to just eat and sleep. Can't wait to see him in person. FYI his newest cousin will be here Wednesday!

That little guy is so sweet. I still can't believe how tiny he is. He is even smaller in person! Happy 1st Father's Day!!

Evan is completely adorable! He may be small now, but just give him a few months to let those McNeil genes kick in and he will be holding his own. Happy Father's Day Allen, you deserve it!

Patrice,
I was helping with the Kamas Pageant lastnight and asking Billie Sue about her new grandsons...long story short...I had Cameron 4 weeks 2 days early and we had an enormous struggle in the nursing department - he didn't have the natural instinct to swallow or suck, acted too tired, we had hour or more long sessions. If you're interested in hearing what helped us, and when things started to be much easier, I'd love to share. I successfully nursed him for 8 months, so we got through it. You can email me at joadtoad@yahoo.com to let me know if you're interested.
Good luck. Sorry if this was too much information for everyone! :)
